Plum Nelly – Deceptive Lines
Original 1970 USA Stereo LP
Capitol Records ST-692 (Discogs)
~ThePoodleBites rip in 96kHz/24bit FLAC + full artwork scans (800dpi)~
**NOTE**: This is an older rip and some vinyl noise will be heard on the recording. I've decided to allow it here for the time being since it still has much better sound quality than the CD. However, I may redo this rip with superior sound in the future.
This rip is one that I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time. The first time I heard “Deception”, I was immediately hooked. To me the groove is somewhere between early Led Zeppelin and Ian Anderson’s Jethro Tull. Not only does lead vocalist Ric Prince absolutely kill the performance, but the lyrics are all too real, and the music is just consistently great.
This original vinyl has become increasingly expensive over the last few years, and now people are spending over $100 for this LP, and rightfully so. At least I only had to spend one arm for this record instead of some additional legs. There are two CDs which have appeared, and both are vinyl-sourced. The “Flawed Gems” CD isn’t awful, the other one is. This beats them both.
